Agenzia Formativa Prometeo
(Italy) is a vocational training agency offering
qualified vocational training (initial, higher,
permanent and lifelong), guidance services
and the opportunity to access the labour market
to people of all ages belonging to less privileged categories
or to those categories of people in need of social intervention.
Prometeo carries out its vocational training activities through
an agreement with ministries and local bodies with the purpose
of providing a new personal promotion and development model
that offers to the weakest categories of people within the
labour market the opportunity of a positive and decent re-entry
into the social and economic framework.
Prometeo is included in the list of
Qualified Suppliers of Innovation Services
of Apulia Regional Council and has recently been awarded the
UNI EN ISO Quality Certification with the aim of improving
its capability to cope with growing requirements both at national
and European level. This is achieved by differentiating and
customising the offer of vocational services and by introducing
vocational training and processes aimed at making the access
to the world of labour more and more flexible and customised.

RESEARCHES – Ministry of Education, Scientific Research

Centrum voor Talen en Techniek
Limburg
Centre in Languages and Techniques (CTT
Limburg) is the Belgian partner in the EDOL project. It is
a school for adult education. CTT, Centre
in Languages and Techniques is an officially approved institute,
which offers daytime- and evening courses in several locations
of the Eastern Belgian province of Limburg (Bree, Eisden,
Genk and Maaseik).

The Forum Trust
The Forum Trust is located in Norwich,
England, and is responsible for maintaining and managing the
landmark Forum building. Since it opened in late 2001, the
Forum has become an outstanding success in the Norwich community.
Among the objectives of the Trust, as set out in its memorandum
of association, are the advancement of public education;
promoting and undertaking archaeological investigations,
research and experimental work; formulating,
preparing and establishing schemes for research work; and
publishing.
Within the Forum Trust, the Research and Innovation
department carries out research and development in support
of the continuing growth of the Trust’s services, particularly
in the areas of learning, culture, history, economic regeneration,
personal development, work, leisure, and the application of
new technology. Current areas of activity include e-learning,
on-line communities, heritage content and related service
developments. The Research and Innovation department
has undertaken consultancy work for a range of clients including
the Department for Education and Skills; Creative Partnerships;
HEART; Norfolk Tourism; Norfolk Tourist Attraction Association;
City of Norwich School and Wymondham Learning Initiative.
Researchers are also currently engaged on a Heritage Lottery
Funded project working with a number of Norfolk communities
to research and publish their heritage.
The Research and Innovation department also
works in collaboration with a number of European partners
on a range of heritage and digital technology related projects.

The Nagle Centre
The Nagle Centre (Ireland) was established in 1998. It is
initially established to address the lack of facilities/developmental
activities for the parents within the community –
in particular mothers who are working in the home and to encourage
them to be actively involved in their children’s education
and to bridge the gaps in their own schooling. Very rapidly
the centre expanded its activities to encompass the wider
community.

Inishowen Partnership Company
Inishowen Partnership Company is one
of thirty eight partnership companies, established
in designated areas of disadvantage throughout the Republic
of Ireland. The peninsula is located in the most North-Westerly
part of Ireland. A rural peninsula, it has a population exceeding
thirty thousand people and is an area of outstanding natural
beauty, with rich a natural and cultural heritage well placed
to take advantage of an expanding tourism market.
Established in February 1996, the Inishowen
Partnership Company has a goal to counteract disadvantage
by presenting opportunities for our target groups
which include: long-term unemployed, Disadvantaged Women,
Travellers, Elderly, Homeless, People with Disabilities, Ex
Prisoners, Low Income Farm Households, Ethnic Minorities,
Substance Misusers, Single Parents and Young people at risk,
while taking family friendly and rural proofed approaches
to all our policies. We have played a key role in initiating,
complementing and completing interventions and measures to
target social exclusion.
Promoting social inclusion
in the Inishowen Peninsula and feeding into both county and
national policy continues to be the focus of the work of Inishowen
Partnership Company. Supporting the development of community
based services throughout all areas of the peninsula with
our Development Officers providing a range of services from
referrals to advice and information to capacity building of
individuals and promotion of the sustainability of communities
and the development of the social and economic infrastructure
of our target communities.
Inishowen Partnership Company has been successful
to date in promoting a process of integrated local development
and administers a number of innovative programmes under the
following headings:

VUC FYN
Funen County - the island county: Funen County
consists of the scenic islands at the heart of Kingdom of
Denmark.
These islands are Funen, Denmark’s
second-largest island, and some 90 other large and small islands.
Only 25 of them are inhabited. Funen is connected to the rest
of Denmark by bridges and a tunnel, while crossings to most
of the small islands must generally be made by ferry.
Approximately 470,000 people live in Funen
County. Of these nearly 40 percent live in Odense which is
also the largest of the 32 municipalities. The regional theatre
is situated here as well as a larger number of educational
institutions, such as the university and the university hospital.
VUC to be found in 9 municipalities all over the county.
VUC FYN’s expertise consists of
adult education on general upper secondary and higher
preparatory level. Young people who have finished
the 9th or 10th class of a municipal lower secondary school
can continue at one of the upper secondary schools or a higher
preparatory school e.g. VUC. |

ROC Deltion College
Regional Education Centre for the future
Deltion College is a regional education centre (Regionaal OpleidingenCentrum - ROC) that offers a wide range of educational opportunities. Each year, we provide around 16,000 young people and adults with secondary level vocational training and education. We also offer education and advice to institutions, business and government. Our programmes prepare students for successful (re)entry into the job market.

The Vauxhall Centre
The Vauxhall Centre (England) is a multi
functional resource centre in the middle of Norwich.
It provides a range of social, educational and recreational
opportunities for disabled people. A range of activities and
courses are on offer at the centre e.g. IT, creative writing
and many more. The centre is able to provide personal care.
The centre is also a base for a wide range of other organisations
who provide a service within the disability field.
The Vauxhall Centre philosophy is based on
the social model of disability. The Centre
is organised as an equal partnership between those that work
at the centre and those that attend the centre and works towards
the empowerment of disabled people. |
